Cost
to Play:$3 for UTHSC-H Student & Recreation
Members, $5 for all Others (must be affiliated with UT/TMC).
Fee includes scheduling & awards. The league minimum
is 8 players (4 Men /4 Women) and maximum is 24 Men & 8
Women players. All players must be at least 18 years
of age to play.
ALL
PLAYERS MUST TURN IN AN ENTRY FORM BY APRIL 22nd TO HOLD
THERE SPOT. ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS; ONCE THE
TOURNAMENT IS FULL THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS. PLAYERS MAY
PLACE THEIR NAMES ON A WAITING LIST IF THIS OCCURS. ONCE
TOURNAMENT MAKES, PAYMENT IS DUE & ACCEPTED FROM WEDNESDAY,
APRIL 23rd - TUESDAY, APRIL 29th BY 6:00 P.M. IF NO PAYMENT
IS RECEIVED FROM THE REGISTERED PLAYER, HE/SHE WILL BE
ELIMINATED FROM THE TOURNAMENT. |
Tournament Information: The Tennis Tournament
is either a single or consolation elimination tournament.
To decide who serves first players will rally for serve.
Players must win
two consecutive points to win service. Players will play
an 8 game set or 25 minutes. Deuce scoring will apply; players
must win by two games to win the set. One can of tennis balls
will be provided to players each game, players must provide
there own tennis racquets. Players must keep track of
there own scores. Any disputes must be resolved on the tennis
courts by both players, gentlemen’s rules apply. All players
must sign an activity wavier form before his/her match.
NON
REC MEMBERS WILL RECEIVE A WRIST BAND AT CHECK IN TO BE WORN
WHILE PARTICIPATING IN THIS ACTIVITY. ALL NON REC MEMBER
PARTICIPANTS ARE PROHIBITED FROM USING THE FACILITY, EXCEPT
FOR THE COURT AREA DURING THIS EVENT.
Winner receives a championship t-shirt and takes a picture
for our Recreation Sports championship wall and web site
for all to see as well as bragging rights!
Outdoor tennis tournament will run approx. 1 - 4 days. Games
are played on Wednesday and Thursday nights from 6:00-9:30pm
until the tournament is completed.
All games will be played
at the UT Recreation Center Outdoor Tennis Courts, located
off of Knight Road near the TMC
entrance sign 54.
