Welcome to the Mobility Program
Program Overview
The UTHSC-H Mobility Program has multiple goals to reduce single occupancy vehicles
(SOV) into the Texas Medical Center (TMC). The goals include; the reduction
of individuals commuting alone, the ability to offer alternative transportation
options, to educate the University community about alternate transportation
services and to take a leadership role in reforming transportation programs
within the TMC.
Alternative Transportation Options
The alternative transportation options (modes) supported by the Mobility
Program are METRO, Woodlands Express, Fort Bend County Express, and
Vanpool services offered through METRO and VPSI and Enterprise Ride
Share.
Employee Benefits
Employees of UTHSC-H who meet the eligibility requirements will be entitled
to a monthly subsidy of sixty-five percent up to $55 beginning July
2008 for their selected alternative transportation option (modes)
from home to work and return. (METRO-based on 21 days, Woodlands Express
or Fort Bend County Based on 20 days, and Vanpool).

Eligibility
The Mobility Program is limited to Full Time Employees of UTHSC-H utilizing
an alternative mass transit transportation mode at least four times
per week from home to work and back home. The
program is not for those who need a rail pass strictly for transportation
during the workday. All parking contracts must be forfeited
with the exception of van pool drivers.
The Mobility Participant must notify the Program Administrator of a change in employment status that would make him or her ineligible for the program. If a violation of eligibility is found, the employee will be liable for any charges during the ineligible period and will be immediately dropped from the program.
