Welcome to the Mobility Program

Program Overview
The UTHSC-H Mobility Program has multiple goals to reduce single occupancy vehicles (SOV) into the Texas Medical Center (TMC). The goals include; the reduction of individuals commuting alone, the ability to offer alternative transportation options (METRO, Vanpool, and Woodlands Express), to educate the University community about alternate transportation services and to take a leadership role in reforming transportation programs within the TMC.

Alternative Transportation Modes
The four alternative mode of transportation supported by the Mobility Program are METRO, Woodlands Express and Vanpool services offered through METRO and VPSI and Enterprise Ride Share.

Employee Benefits
Employees of UTHSC-H who meet the eligibility requirements will be entitled to a monthly subsidy of sixty-five percent up to $55 beginning July 2008 for their selected alternative mode of transportation from home to work and return. (METRO-based on 21 days, Vanpool, and Woodlands Express).

Eligibility
The Mobility Program is limited to Full Time Employees of UTHSC-H utilizing mass transit (METRO, Vanpools (VPSI or Enterprise, or Woodlands Express) at least four times per week from home to work and back home.  The program is not for those who need a rail pass strictly for transportation during the workday.   All parking contracts must be forfeited with the exception of van pool drivers.

The Mobility Participant must notify the Program Administrator of a change in employment status that would make him or her ineligible for the program.  If a violation of eligibility is found, the employee will be liable for any charges during the ineligible period and will be immediately dropped from the program.

Violations of the Mobility Program
The Mobility Program is a benefit offered to employees of UTHSC-H. If you have knowledge or suspicion of any activity that may be illegal or is non-compliant, we encourage you to make use of the UT-Houston - Compliance Hotline, 1-888-472-9868, or send an email to compliance@uth.tmc.edu.
